About This Court
It isn't one. This is a joke website that answers one question, every day of the year: is it too early for Christmas?
Every November, the same argument breaks out in every family, every office and every neighborhood with one early inflatable. Someone puts up a tree. Someone else has opinions. Nobody has any authority. So we made some up.
The site checks today's date and rules on it. Everything on the Ruling Board has its own opening and closing dates, worked out from the calendar, including Thanksgiving, which moves around every year. Drag the date and you can watch the same house go from a skeleton on the lawn to a neighborhood incident to a dead tree on the curb.
Are The Dates Real?
The dates are our opinion, and we hold them firmly for no good reason. Decorate from November 1st, turn the lights on from November 15th, and save the music for the day after Thanksgiving. The rest follows from what we'd want our own neighbors to do. Where we give practical advice, like how long a cut tree lasts or how to water one, it's ordinary common sense that you can check for yourself. Nobody's going to enforce any of it. Put up whatever you want, whenever you want.
Things To Do Here
- See today's ruling and appeal it. You'll lose.
- Read every ruling, from the tree to the takedown.
- Ask the Judge your own question.
- Report a neighbor with a printable notice. It's also a joke.
Who Runs This?
A small independent website, written by actual people who've thought about this much too long. The Judge's answers to Ask The Judge are written by an AI, Anthropic's Claude, playing a character. Everything else was written by hand. The photos and puppets are AI-generated, and no judges were involved.
The site is supported by ads. Read about how that works, and what data is involved, on the Privacy page.
